Electrical Fault Finding & Repairs
Electrical faults are frustrating and, left alone, can be dangerous. A breaker that keeps tripping, a circuit that’s gone dead, lights that flicker, or a faint burning smell are all signs something needs investigating properly.
Fault finding is where my maintenance-engineering background really shows. I diagnose methodically using proper test equipment to find the root cause — not just treat the symptom — then fix it safely and explain what went wrong.

Frequently asked questions
My breaker keeps tripping — what’s wrong?
It could be an overloaded circuit, a faulty appliance, moisture ingress, or a damaged cable or accessory causing an earth fault. The right approach is to test methodically to find which circuit and component is responsible, rather than simply resetting it.
Is a burning smell an emergency?
Treat any burning smell from sockets, switches or the consumer unit as urgent. Stop using the circuit, switch it off if safe to do so, and call me. Overheating connections are a real fire risk.
Can you find intermittent faults?
Yes — intermittent faults are the trickiest, but a structured testing approach combined with maintenance experience is exactly how you track them down. I’ll be honest about what’s involved if a fault only shows up occasionally.
