Frequently asked questions

What areas do you cover?

LAD Electrical Services is based in Livingston and covers West Lothian, Edinburgh, Falkirk, Stirling, Glasgow and the wider Central Scotland area. If you’re unsure whether I can reach you, just ask.

Are you qualified and insured?

Yes. I’m a qualified electrical maintenance engineer with a Level 3 SVQ in Engineering Maintenance (Electrical), inspection & testing and PAT qualifications, and I work to the BS 7671 wiring regulations. The business is insured.

What’s an EICR and do I need one?

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a formal assessment of the safety of your electrical installation. Landlords in Scotland are required to have one at least every five years, and they’re strongly recommended for homeowners and businesses too.

Do you do emergency callouts?

I offer emergency callouts for genuine electrical faults such as loss of power, tripping that won’t reset, or burning smells. Call or WhatsApp and I’ll let you know how quickly I can get to you.

How do I get a price?

Use the quote form, call, or message on WhatsApp with a short description of the work (and a photo if it helps). I’ll come back to you quickly with honest advice and a clear price.
